What is appendicitis ?
Appendicitis is an inflammation, irritation and infection of the appendix (a narrow tube which is the 3.5 inch extension of large intestine) It is generally called as Appendix. The main function of appendix is to work in first few years of life with immune system. The appendix was once thought to serve, there is no purposes in adults but now recent discoveries have linked it to the immune function. In appendicitis, it can be infected and if it is untreated, can burst, it may cause more infection and even result in death.
Causes of Appendix
The major cause of appendicitis is not known, but some the common causes include:

- Tenderness when applying pressure to lower right abdomen
- Pain that worsens while you walk, cough or make other jarring movements
- Nausea.
- Vomiting.
- Loss of appetite.
- Low-grade fever.
- Constipation.
- Inability to pass gas.
- Diarrhea.
- Abdominal swelling.
Appendicitis is usually treated by surgical methods as soon as possible (appendectomy). Specific treatment for appendix will be determined physician based on
